A dramatic irony is a case where the audience know/aware of about what is about to happen to the characters/actors in the story, and the characters don’t know what is to come.
For example, in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Macbeth tells the aside which is also known as the audience that he is creating a plan to have dispense with Malcolm who is heir to the throne to reconsider and let himself be king instead.
